The study of Irish encourages students to develop an understanding of the spoken and written forms, to communicate confidently and clearly in Irish and to use an increasingly complex and varied language. It allows students to develop an awareness of the nature of the language and foster sympathetic and positive attitudes to other cultures and civilisations.
