Congratulations to our girls for raising over £1300 for the Newry Alzheimer’s Society.
This year the school bank – “Pulse Bank” – decided that their community outreach project would be focused on those who suffer from Dementia. They visited the Care Home in Warrenpoint where they baked cakes for the residents and played a selection of music pieces.
In addition the Bank team also held a coffee morning in Newry in order to raise money for this charity.
The Alzheimer’s Society held a workshop in the school for Year 13 students where they received a certificate and are now called the “Dementia Friends”. It is our intention to make this an annual event in school for the Year 13 students.
A lot of our junior classes also chose this Society for their charity and raised an incredible amount of money.
Well done to everyone involved in this very worthwhile fundraising event.
