A number of Year 8 & 10 students will attend Anti-bullying Ambassador training in Newry High School today.
Congratulations to Gabrielle Feenan (14C) who won a “Grand Award” at the recent Sentinus Young Innovators competition, she received a trophy and a place at the “Big Bang Fair 2019” to be held next March in the NEC in Birmingham.
Gabrielle displayed her A2 Technology project – An Electronic Anemometer (wind speed measuring equipment).
Both Gabrielle and Lauren Martin (14D), who displayed her “Electronic Bleep Test”, were very fine ambassadors for the school and we are delighted with the success.
A number of students from Years 12-14 will take part in the Sentinus Young Innovators Competition being held in the University of Ulster today.
Sports Day will take place today.
The Summer Examinations for Years 8-10 students will begin today.
A number of students will sit the exam for the Kangaroo Round of the Junior Maths Challenge this morning.

Today is the Feast of the Sacred Heart and a Staff Development Day – School will remain closed for students (apart from those sitting external exams).
Congratulations to Lara Hughes (9C) who was the overall winner of the SHS Internal Feis. Lara received the Kathleen Harrington Cup for her recital and speaking at the presentation, Board of Governors Chairperson and adjudicator of the event, Mrs Posey Gilsenan, said she was “extremely impressed with the overall standard of the performances” she thanked all those who took part and made it such a worthwhile event and she gave special words of praise to Ms T Davey, organiser of the Internal Feis.
Commiserations to four of our Year 8 students – Aimee Strain, Alice McGuire, Sarah McGuire and Saoirse Byard who were narrowly defeated in the final of the Northern Ireland Quiz held in St Colman’s College. It was a thrilling final and we offer our congratulations to the winning team (Our Lady’s) on their great success.
