Anti-Bullying Week

By | November 12, 2018

This week is Anti-Bullying Week and the theme is: CHOOSE RESPECT. We are very fortunate that 20 of our students have been trained by the Diana Award Charity and have taken on the role of Anti-Bullying Ambassadors: There are 4 girls from each of the following year groups: Years 9, 10, 11, 12, & 14, under the leadership of Amy Boyle and Katie Reavey. The ABAs have produced a ‘student friendly’ leaflet entitled “Bullying In Our School and How We Can Stop It!”. The leaflets are displayed in all classrooms and on the noticeboard beside H4. You will be able to identify the girls on the team this week as they will all be wearing a yellow ribbon on the lapel of their blazers: WEAR YELLOW TO SHOW RESPECT.

The Anti-Bullying Ambassadors have lots of exciting things planned to celebrate the positive message of the week: RESPECT.  We would encourage everyone to participate in the activities: Year 9s will be performing improvisations in the foyer each day at lunch-time; there is a Poster Competition for the Junior School; you can pick up a leaflet in the H Area (beside H4) and try writing an Acrostic Poem based on the word RESPECT; you can choose to add a comment to the Positive Message Board in the foyer; there is a WORRY BOX outside the Oratory where you can leave a message for the Anti-Bullying Ambassadors and finally, this Friday will be a dedicated ‘Random Act of Kindness Day’. On top of this, various activities and lessons will focus on the theme ‘Choose Respect’ in Form Classes throughout the week.
